Smart metering: a key to energy efficiency in real estate properties
In an interview with Dr Andreas Kindt and Martin Lukaschewitsch, the importance of smart metering for optimising the energy efficiency of real estate properties is underlined. Together with its partner Qivalo, POLIS has been using digital solutions to monitor and control energy consumption in its property portfolio since 2022. The aim of the project is to analyse the consumption of electricity, water and heat in virtually real time using an intelligent metering infrastructure, thereby tapping into efficiency potential. These measures not only help to reduce the ecological footprint, but also offer tenants the opportunity to make their energy consumption more transparent and optimise it.
